Children’s Gardening Activity at the Houston Center
On March 19, 2014, seven children and three adults participated in cleaning and planting the Yoko (“Sunlight”) Garden of the Houston Center of Sukyo Mahikari.
Fun was had by all as the children learned to take small bugs out of the garden and place them in another location.
Strawberries, tomatoes, cucumbers, squash, green beans and peppers were planted during the activity. Spearmint was also planted on the herb side of the garden. The children were able to pick out, as well as plant, the plant of their choice. Hot dogs, chips, ice cream and drinks were served to round off the eventful day.
Everyone had a great time and all the participants expressed an interest in learning about spirit-centered gardening.
