Affiliation with URI North America
On February 23, 2013 Sukyo Mahikari was officially recognized as an Affiliate of the United Religions Initiative of North America (URI, http://www.uri.org/). The purpose of the United Religions Initiative is to promote enduring, daily interfaith cooperation, to end religiously motivated violence and to create cultures of peace, justice and healing for the Earth and all living beings. In the near future Sukyo Mahikari would like to work together with URI to help unite with members of different faiths in offering service to the community.

On Sunday June 2 Sande Hart, Chairperson of URI North America attended the June Monthly Ceremony at the North American Regional Headquarters. After the ceremony, Sande was introduced by the Center Director of the Los Angeles Center, Mr. Hiroaki Higaki, where she explained the purpose of URI and how we can work together to accomplish our similar missions. Sande also met briefly with the Regional Director, Mr. Wada, as well as the Support Staff of the Los Angeles Center.
