Youth Corner: Spring Training!
North American Regional Headquarters was host to the spring regional training for the Sukyo Mahikari Youth Group from March 11 to 12 and the Youth Group General Assembly on March 13. 38 youth group members from 12 centers participated - Houston, Seattle, Los Angeles, Pasadena, Torrance, Phoenix, San Francisco, Hawaii, New York, Chicago, Cincinnati, and Washington DC.
During the training, we received a lecture from our regional director regarding Oshienushisama's teaching for youth this year, titled "Youth, Be Honest." We then discussed how we are going to actually put this teaching into practice as Sukyo Mahikari Youth Group members.

Furthermore, we studied together and discussed among ourselves the meaning of cultivating the spirit of service, faith directing oneself toward
God, promoting the mission of karamara (filling an empty vessel with spiritual contents), and practicing the divine principles in our daily lives.

On the morning of the 12th, the youth traveled to Mile Square Park, about a 30-minute drive from regional headquarters, and participated in volunteer service of tree planting in the natural reserve area, trimming shrubs, and pulling weeds to protect the environment. We were able to interact with other organizations and
learned the value of offering service within our communities. We hope to continue to organize community service activities in our respective areas.

During the General Assembly, we welcomed 5 new youth group members and saw the graduation of 15 youth group members. We renewed our resolution to strive even more to become God-centered leaders who can fulfill the will of God and Oshienushisama.
Throughout these three days, we were allowed to have the dedicated services of our retired youth group members who prepared our meals. We had a wonderful training in which all people, both youth group members and the retired youth group members, were able to do their part in offering service to God.
We offer our heartfelt gratitude to all those people who made efforts behind the scenes to help organize the regional training and the General Assembly. Going forward, we would like to humbly ask for the entire region's continued support for the nurturing of the Sukyo Mahikari Youth Group.
